Lucid Dreams - Am I the only one?

OK! sooo...

I have just randomly thought of a little story I wanted to share on here, hopefully gaining some sort of a response. So ...

Over the past year or two I have noticed how many dreams I actually have when I sleep, and amazingly how I remember everything even when I've woke up! However what is really strange is that I keep having dreams where I know I am dreaming.

Ok to explain. When I am dreaming, I walk around my dreams knowing I am having a dream. I have full control over what happens, and I laugh if something scary happens because I simply know its not real. One time my dog came up to me in my dream and started barking at me with blood dripping from its mouth and zombie like eyes. Although this sounds pretty scary, I remember looking at my dog knowing it wasn't real because I was simply asleep. I also find I have control of waking up. So when something scary does happen, and I think oh stuff it I dont like this dream anymore, I close my eyes and in a weird way suck myself out from my unconscious. Don't ask me how I do it , I do not know!

So anyway ... Although I may sound extremely weird right now, I have not shared this to anyone yet and wanted to know if this has ever happened to them, or their thoughts on the situation. Of course, I did my research and found out that this is called "lucid" dreaming and is apparently perfectly normal.

However, one thing that did concern me is that i keep dreaming about my dad who passed away a couple of years back. In my dream I knowingly walk down to the house where he lived, and enter shouting his name. Sometimes he isn't there however sometimes he answers back and comes strolling down the stairs. I ask him how he is, he apologises every time for leaving. However, I know I am in a dream , and there to go see him, knowing he is not alive. He tells me how he can't be in my dreams all the time as he has to go see my sisters too, and its sad having to say goodbye to him when I hear my alarm ringing (in real life). At first I thought I was gifted. I started to question Freud's theory of the unconscious and how he says it is not accessible. However, I truly believe I am accessing it.

What does everyone else think??? (Bit of a deep blog post I know!)

  3. Hey Hun

We only operate from the Unconscious Mind about 5% of the time, 95% is from the Subconscious. The Subconscious is all our automatic programmes are stored such as Driving a Car. When you Dream I believe your Mind shows you what you need to see. Let’s not forget here that losing your Dad when you did is a Major thing especially at your age and your Mind will still be trying to make sense of it. Wondering where he is ect..

Somebody once said that the Spirits of our loved ones present themselves in the form of dreams, to let us know they are there. He is always around you and I believe one day we meet with those again that we loved in this lifetime. The Physical Body is just light particles when drilled right down but I believe the real us, the spirit, the energy is everlasting.
